Paul Brunell
Northern Michigan Association of Community & Adult Education
Crawford AuSable School District

Jo Anne HattoPaul Brunell was raised in Flint and went on to attend Michigan State University. In 1994, he began his community education career at Crawford AuSable School District and has worked in its adult education program until he became the director of the program in 2000.

For those working in community education, inspiration lies everywhere. For Paul, he’s found that “the positive impact our program has on the lives of our clients,” inspires him the most.

As a member of the board this year, the number one thing Paul would like to focus on is legislation and policy.

“We need to continue being a major player in staying on top of legislation and influencing policy in Lansing,” he said.

His hope for the board as a team this year is “keeping the momentum of the previous year. I thought the board and membership did a tremendous job last year. We accomplished so much and our work is never done.”
