A native of Mt. Clemens, Mich., Bob received his undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University before earning his master’s degree in educational leadership from Eastern Michigan University. Bob is now beginning his 33rd year working in community education.
“What inspires me about (community education) is working to connect the community to our schools, and improve quality of life for all our residents,” he said. “We strive to become the resource people go to for help.”
As a board member this year, Bob would like to focus on MACAE’s membership and benefits by developing strategies to increase membership and services. His goal for the board as a team this year would be to work together and create those partnerships and capacities needed to benefit the community.
“We are an advocacy organization and members demand from us the capacity to be effective voices for adult education, including literacy and ESL, alternative education, early (care and education), and recreation and enrichment/after school programming,” he said. |
