Early Care and Education

 
 

Early Care and Education programs serve infants to preschoolers, 0-5 year olds, and parents. Services include child care, early childhood development and learning, and parent education
and training for families with a diverse set of learning, financial, social and health needs.

MACAE offers Early Care and Education Professionals:

  1. Training and professional development as identified by leaders in the field,
  2. The Early Care and Education Focus Group, an ongoing forum for educational professionals to exchange promising practices and find solutions to shared problems,
  3. Strong grassroots advocacy and a voice before state and national policy makers in pursuit of effective policy that addresses the unique needs of adult learners and those who serve adult learners, and
  4. Timely updates on national and state policy, program requirements, funding, research and partnership opportunities.
  5. Opportunities to meet, interact with and become leaders in their field.

Leave No Child Left Inside

8:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
This workshop is designed to provide childcare, before and after school care, early childhood, summer camp, and alternative education practitioners a hands-on experience in developing outdoor activities. This refreshing presentation will enable these professionals to bring more students outdoors and engage them in age-appropriate activities. All Registrants will receive a copy of the book LAST CHILD IN THE WOODS by Richard Louv, which includes a great field guide for educators, communities, and parents. MACAE Board Members John Zappala and Bob Steeh will be the grill chefs for the day! This workshop is outdoors, so please dress appropriately. (i.e. t-shirts, jeans, and athletic shoes)

May 18-20
  Grant Writing Workshop
Monday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday: Home Work: Teams work off-site on materials provided by the Grant Writing Network to develop an action plan based on materials presented in the first day of the workshop.
Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This workshop is designed to teach the process of grant writing using a systems approach. A highly qualified coach will present the various aspects of successful grant writing using a seminar format that engages the participant in the writing process from proposal idea to finished product. In addition to the hands-on workshop, each team will receive a complementary copy of the Grant Writing Network DVD “The Workshop” with their registration fee of $350. The DVD retails for $395. SB-CEUs are pending for this workshop and will be an additional $10 per person.

In these tough economic times, finding money for our programs is imperative. Now, with so many opportunities for grant money coming for educators and educational institutions, it is the perfect time to be poised with a prepared grant-writing team! If you want to be ready to write a polished, professional grant, this is the best time to invest in yourself, your staff, and your program. Give yourself the edge your program needs. There is only limited availability for this valuable workshop, so register early!
