COMPREHENSIVE ADULT STUDENT ASSESSMENT SYSTEMS

October 31, 2008

7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

(Continental Breakfast and Lunch Provided)

At
Holiday Inn West
7501 W. Saginaw Hwy.

Overview:
This training will provide participants with the opportunity to learn about CASAS - a curriculum management and assessment system- and to participate in a daylong workshop. CASAS requires that at least one individual from a local adult education/ literacy program be trained by a certified CASAS trainer in order to purchase and use CASAS materials. Participation in this training will enable local programs that have not already attended CASAS Implementation Training (IT) to meet that requirement.

Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • Place learners in appropriate educational program levels
  • Assess learning gains and link assessment to curriculum and instruction
  • Certify attainment of learner and program goals
  • Select and use appropriate CASAS assessment instruments
  • Interpret assessment results to target instruction and evaluate learning gains
